Herbal revolution™ is the latest development from the wellness fanatics here at Down To Earth Wellness. We have realized that leading healthy, vibrant lives is an ongoing challenge in this toxic world we live in. There are chemicals in our air, food and water and we are constantly exposed to these chemicals whether we are outside, in our cars, at work and even at home. With the dramatic rise in illnesses such as asthma, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, autism and even cancer, we have become increasing aware of this risk to our health.
Did you know that many of the chemicals in skin care products, when applied to your skin, can be absorbed directly into your blood stream? This can be more dangerous for your health than if you were to actually eat the product because the chemicals do not get filtered by your liver or digestive system!
There are over 10,000 chemical ingredients found in personal care products and up to 1/3 of all products on store shelves contain at least one known carcinogen. Many of the other chemical ingredients are known to be skin irritants, allergens, synthetic hormones, or other toxins. These chemicals are not added to products for your benefit but so the products you use can sit on store shelves for months or years at a time. Why not use products that we designed for the benefit that they provide you, not the benefits they provide to the company you are buying them from!
Our solution to help to improve our own health and help our friends, family and clients is to eliminate the use of chemicals in our personal care products. We have learned that the average person is exposed to over 200 chemicals in their morning bathroom routine so it made sense to us to start there. We have begun crafting our own all natural, chemical and synthetic preservative free products for the face and body. We believe natural skin care can be as fresh and as healthy as your food, nourishing your body from the outside! We use only the most vibrant, fresh, high quality natural and organic ingredients that are full of vitamins and nutrients to literally feed your skin, such as rose hip seed oil, shea butter, coconut oil, herbs and essential oils. Since our products are made with fresh all natural ingredients and contain only natural preservatives such as Vitamin E and essential oil blends, some of our products should be kept refrigerated when not being used to preserve the beneficial qualities of the product.
Currently we have a basic range of face, body and massage products. We are open to suggestions and will be researching ways to expand our line in the months to come. Our face line consists of 3-5 products to be used as a part of your daily and weekly rituals. The face ritual uses 3 steps to help you Refresh, Nourish, and Protect your skin. Weekly we recommend adding additional steps to Renew your skin and Remove impurities. Our Refresh Your Face Soaps and Nourish Herbal Toner can be customized with herbal infusions to suit the needs of your skin. We have two protective creams to hydrate and rejuvenate your skin. Our weekly ritual products include an Herbal Scrub and Clay Mask.
Our body products allow you to develop your own rituals by choosing the specific products that can help you Refresh, Renew, Protect or Treat yourself. There is a great variety in the selection of options and scents available in these products and we can customize these to your preference. Our Refresh Your Body Soaps change seasonally and we have different ones available all the time. We offer salt and sugar body scrubs to Renew the skin, several different creams and lotion can Protect your body, and we have other specialized products to Treat yourself, like our Soothe Foot Cream.
We are still experimenting with our favorite blends for massage lotions and oils, but we can tell you that our favorite massage product so far is the Body Butter, which goes on like a cream but leaves a beautiful glide to do deep work or long strokes.
